An extensive tour throughout southern Peru, the cradle of the Inca civilization, masters of agriculture and megalithic buildings. We will visit Lima, the Nasca lines, Cusco and his Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and finally Puno and its Tequile island.
Trip Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LIMA.-
Reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel. (Does not include meals)

 

DAY 2: NASCA LINES.-
You will be picked up from your hotel at 5:00 in the morning, you will travel with a driver in a minivan, the trip takes about 6 hours each way (round trip). On the way they will visit the Site Museum, the Tomb of María Reiche. Then they will see the Nasca Lines. Throughout the Paved Desert there are a large number of Lines, not only Parallels and Geometric Figures, but also Designs such as: a Dog, a Monkey, a Hummingbird of great Dimension (100 meters), a Spider and a Tree. These Lines, which represent a kind of Agricultural Calendar representing some constellations, are best seen from the air. They will take a half-hour flight on the Lines (plane ticket included). After the flight, you will have time to rest and have lunch before returning to Lima. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel in Lima. (GIVES)

 

DAY 3: LIMA – CUSCO.-
Transfer to Lima Airport for the flight to Cusco (plane ticket not included).

Upon arrival at Cusco Airport. Reception and transfer to the hotel, where you will receive an Aromatic Mate de Coca that will help your body acclimatize to the Altitude, you will have the morning free to rest and we also suggest that you have a light meal, either at your hotel or in one of the Restaurants of The Surroundings, in the afternoon they will go on a tour of the city (the entrance to the Archaeological Centers and Museums included) they will visit the Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral, the Koricancha (Temple of the sun) and, they will take a tour around the Centers Archaeological sites such as the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Q ‘ENKO, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. The Tour ends at approximately 18:30 in the Plaza de Armas so that you can dine in one of the Excellent Restaurants in the area (B).

 

NOTES:
* City tour: from 1:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Pick up from the hotel starts at 1:15 pm).
* Buffet Dinner with Optional Folk Show: add US$ 30 per person.

 

DAY 4: SACRED VALLEY ONE DAY TOUR.-
Breakfast. You will be picked up at 8:15 a.m. Full day tour to the Urubamba Valley, Visiting: the Colorful Indian Market in Pisac, where a mixture of Color and Tradition can be appreciated, and you will be able to feel what the life of a Local Artisan is like and buy their handmade works. The Valley is at a distance of 31 km (19 miles) from Cusco, and an altitude of 2,970 m (9,700 p). Pisac is located at the Entrance of the Sacred Valley and followed by Ollantaytambo, the Oldest Continuously Occupied City on the American Continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with its Canals that have not changed since the Inca Era, evoke its Ancestral Heritage, then you will have lunch in a Typical Restaurant and visit the Chinchero Market.

Chinchero is believed to be the Mythical Cradle of the Rainbow. Its main attraction for tourism is its Colorful Sunday Market. At the end they return to the Main Square of Cusco at approximately 6:30 pm.

The night is free for you to eat in a Restaurant of your choice, although we always have several suggestions in case you require it. (GIVES)

 

DAY 5: CUSCO / MACHU PICCHU (* Accommodation in Aguas Calientes).-
Early breakfast and collection to go to the train station to depart for Machu Picchu, the trip lasts about 4 hours. During the trip we will have a breathtaking view of the landscapes of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba and the Amazon rainforest that provides you with a little clue of how much Peru has to offer. Upon reaching the small town of Aguas Calientes, you will have to go to the bus station to the “Citadel of Machu Picchu” (Only 20 minutes away) to receive a professional guided tour of this huge Historical Sanctuary then you will have some free time To explore the area on your own and then have your buffet lunch at the selected restaurant (included), once agreed, we will go to the town of Aguas Calientes to relax in the hot springs or simply overnight at the selected hotel in Aguas Calientes. (D, Box Lunch).

 

DAY 6: MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO.-
Breakfast and the rest of the day free on your own (entrance and bus fare to Machu Picchu is not included today) in the afternoon return to Cuzco. Reception at the train station and transfer to the hotel where you will spend the night (B).

On request: You can make a second visit to Machu Picchu and have the opportunity to know hidden places, such as the Intipunku (Puerta del Sol) or for more adventures you can take a hike to the Cima del Huayna Picchu (young mountain) to visit the Temple of the Moon and enjoy a Spectacular View of the City. Or if you have Good Physical Conditions you can take an adrenaline-filled hike to Putukusi Mountain that is on the opposite side of Machu Picchu and that will allow you to have other Unforgettable Points of View of this New Wonder.

 

DAY 7: CUSCO / PUNO.-
Breakfast and transfer to the bus station to travel to Puno. They will depart from Cusco by Guided Bus to Puno, they will visit Picturesque Villages and Archaeological Sites such as Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, Sicuani, La Raya and Pukara. Lunch included in Sicuani. In the afternoon arrive in Puno, reception and transfer to your hotel. (GIVES)

DAY 8: UROS & TAQUILE ISLANDS.-
They pick you up at 6:30 am, to go to the Port of Puno to take a motorized Tourist Boat to go to the Wonderful Floating Islands of the Uros. After a 1-hour boat ride, you will arrive at the Uros Island on Lake Titicaca. Fishermen and hunters inhabit the Floating Islands of the Uros. The inhabitants of the Uros are known as the “Water Tribe”, because they have to build their own Islands periodically by adding New Layers of Totora, which grows in the Lake, to create the conditions that ensure the Islands to stay afloat. The Dense Roots of the plants form the Support of the Island. The roofs are waterproof and the houses are extremely humid by the Water that surrounds them.
They use it as Homes and Shopping Centers for the Natives, who use handmade Totora boats that are their means of Transportation. At present, they speak Quechua and Aymara. After this Exciting Tour, you will go to the Island of Taquile, where you will see part of the Activities that the Natives of that Island Practice Daily. The place is full of Landscapes and Color, the Uros still maintain their Customs, Rituals, Religious and Folklore Traditions, in the town of Taquile you will eat a typical lunch of fresh fish (trout). There is also an Artisan Fair in the Plaza that sells Exceptional Wool Products that are of very Good Quality. The Island of Taquile is Famous for its Artisan Production, especially for its Beautiful Textiles. The Island is narrow 1 km. wide and 6 to 7. km long. The visit can be exhausting due to the altitude (13,000 feet above sea level). In Taquile there are Numerous Inca and Pre-Inca Ruins, as well as the Inca Terraces. They will return to Puno in the afternoon (B- A)

 

DAY 9: PUNO / LIMA.-
Transfer from your hotel to the Airport to take your flight to Lima (FLIGHTS NOT INCLUDED)
On the way to the Juliaca airport (Puno does not have an airport), you will visit the Chullpas de Sillustani (Pre-Columbian Funeral Towers). The Landscape is Desert, but Impressive, in a Beautiful Scenery on a Peninsula on Lake Aymara 32km from Puno. Most of the Towers date from the Time of the Inca Occupation in the 15th century, the Engineering Involved in the Construction is more Complex than anything the Incas have Built.
They receive you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. (D)

 

DAY 10: FINAL TRANSFER.-
Breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the airport to take your flight. (D)
