Ausangate is the fifth highest snow-capped mountain in Peru. During the journey we will travel the magical Peruvian Andes, near Cusco, meeting native peoples, rich in culture and tradition. An experience for those who like long walks and beautiful landscapes.

Day 1: Cusco - Urcos - Tinqui (3350 - 3850m).-

During the morning we take our transport, to go to the southeast of the city of Cusco. On the way we will observe a great variety of natural landscape in the middle of small hamlets and small towns where we will take advantage of learning about the customs and traditions left by our ancestors. The surroundings of a valley of Catca, it is time to enjoy a picnic. Then we continue on our way to the town of Tinqui 3850m, a suitable place to spend the night camping. Transportation time 6 hours.

Lunch and breakfast included.

 

Day 2: Tinqui - Upis (3850 - 4400m).-

We will start our hike up towards the community of Upis (4400m). Through this path we will have the opportunity to interact with some local families, introducing us to their traditions and customs of Andean life. Upon arriving at the Upis camp, we have the possibility to visit the thermo-medicinal bath, which is good as well as relaxing.
Walking time 6 hours.

Incluid breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 

Day 3: Upis - Arapa Pass - Yanacocha - Extreme Ausangate Pass - Ausangate Lagoon (4400 - 4800 - 4500 - 4850 - 4650m).-

We will start our way up to the first pass known as Arapa (4850m), and continue from there descending to Yana Cocha, where we will arrive to locate a nice Picnic. Then we continue uphill to the Ausangate Extreme Pass (4850m), to finally descend to the edge of the Ausangate lagoon (4650m), where we will camp.  Walking time: 7 hours.

Including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 

Day 4: - Ausangate Lagoon - Palomani Pass - Jampa (4650 - 5200 - 4700m) .-

Today's unevenness will be to ascend to the highest pass of this expedition, called Palomani (5200m), where we will have a spectacular view over the Ausangate snow- capped mountain . From there we descend through a valley and then ascend towards our camp called Jampa (4700m). Walking time 8 hours.

Including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 

Day 5: - Jampa - Campa paso - Pacchanta - Tinqui (4700 - 5100 - 4350 - 3900m).-

The presence of another imposing ascent will be to the Campa pass (5100m), then we will go to the thermal baths of Pacchanta (4350m), place to have a relaxing thermo-medicinal bath before arriving at the community of Tinqui (3850m). Walking time approximately 8 hours.

Including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 

Day 6: - Tinqui - Cusco (3850 - 3350m).-

We will take our bus back to the city of Cusco, arriving to visit the town of Tipon or S aylla to taste a typical dish of the region, such as guinea pig or chicharrón (based on pork meat).

Travel time 6 hours.

Included to taste some typical dish of the region.
