Main Square of the City of Cusco In Inca times it was called Haukaypata, a Quechua word that means "Place of the warrior." Cathedral of the City of Cusco Its construction had two stages: first the Chapel of Triumph was built on what was the old temple of Suntur Wasi (House of God). Temple of the Society of Jesus The original temple was built in 1571 on the grounds of the old Amarucancha, palace of the Inca Huayna Cápac. Pre-Columbian Art Museum The house that houses the museum was the home of the conqueror Alonso Díaz in 1580, as well as that of Count Cabrera in 1850. Machu Picchu Museum of the Casa Concha In the Machu Picchu museum, the more than 360 pieces that were returned by Yale University to Peru in 2013 are exhibited. Contemporary Art Museum This building was built in 1848. Paintings, ceramics, sculptures and other works of art belonging to renowned artists are on display here. Popular art museum Pieces of popular art from the region are exhibited. The museum, founded in 1937, has numerous pieces of imagery, ceramics, crafts, wood and stone carvings. Monument to the Inca Pachacuteq Lithic building with a cylindrical base, on which the bronze sculpture rests with a total height of 33.90 meters. Qosqo Center for Native Art The Qosqo Center presents daily folkloric music and dance shows from various provinces, districts and communities of Cusco.
